Urbaniak
He volunteered to fight against the Fascists in the Spanish Civil War. When they lost he and his compatriots crossed the Pyrenees and surrendered to the French. who imprisoned them at Drancy Concentration Camp, the same place where Jews were collected before their journey to Auschwitz/Birkenau. After liberation Urbaniak walked all the way back to Poland. He was given a job as caretaker at the place where those Jews from Drancy, and countless other places, were murdered. He cared for the place with passion, and dedication.
