William H. Thornton
After receiving his Ph.d. in humanities from Florida State University
in 1985, William Thornton taught two years in Korea and thereafter in
Taiwan. He is currently Professor of Literary and Cultural Theory at
National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan, where he also offers
seminars in globalization in the Institute of International Business.
In addition to his several dozen academic articles, he is the author
of Cultural Prosaics: The Second Postmodern Turn (Research Institute
for Comparative Literature/University of Alberta, 1998) and Fire
on the Rim: The Cultural Dynamics of East/West Power Politics (forthcoming
in 2002 from Rowman and Littlefield.
